Two of the biggest issues facing people today are Health Care and Housing.

On October 2nd, you can help families in Elkhart County take on those challenges by supporting Lacasa, Inc. and Heart City Health. Join us in Goshen or Elkhart – two cities with one heart.

In the morning, Lacasa will launch its inaugural Elkhart River Challenge, featuring a 17.2 mile kayak race from Goshen to Island Park in Elkhart. The winner with the fastest time gets $2,000. And all those who finish are automatically in a drawing for $500.

People can also join in the one-hour parade float from Studebaker Park to Island Park and decorate their canoes or kayaks while enjoying what will probably be the last river run of the year.

Then, that evening, Heart City Health will host the second Heart Beat of the City multi-location concert with live performers at a ticketed tent at Lex530 and free concert locations with more live performers at The Tolson Center and Goshen Brewing Company. The main show will be livestreamed so you can watch it from home, too.

Two cities with one heart – having fun and supporting quality health care and home ownership in Elkhart County. See you there!
